Pick Your Species and Your Forecast Range

The hunt forecast now follows the animal you're after. Switch between whitetail, turkey, elk, waterfowl, bear, coyote, and hog on the Overview and Weather screens, and set a 3, 7, or 10-day outlook (Pro) that sticks across the app.

Every animal reads the weather differently. Turkeys hate wind and rain; whitetail move on pressure drops; elk shrug off cold that would shut other species down. The forecast engine has always scored each species with its own science-backed weights — but the screens were locked to whitetail. Not anymore.

§ 01Switch species anywhere you read the forecast

Tap the species pill in Tonight's Read on your Overview, or next to the location picker on Weather & Moon, and pick from seven species: whitetail, turkey, elk, waterfowl, bear, coyote, and hog. The hunt score, verdict, peak window, and daily outlook all recompute instantly for the animal you're actually chasing. Your choice is remembered on your device and follows you between screens.

§ 02Set your forecast range — 3, 7, or 10 days

The Overview outlook now has the same day-range control as the Weather page: 3 days on the free plan, 7 or 10 with Pro. Pick once and both screens stay in sync — plan a weekend sit or a 10-day rut trip from whichever screen you're on.

§ 03Why it matters

A 75 for whitetail can be a 40 for turkey on the same afternoon. Scoring the species you're hunting — over the window you're hunting it — is the difference between a forecast that's interesting and one that tells you when to take off work.
